TH Hotel, Penang

Last 2 weeks, husband & I had a trip to Penang to attend friend's wedding at Bagan Serai.

We decided to stay at TH Hotel, Penang simply because it is nearer to the second bridge and we can do late check-out before heading down to Bagan Serai for the wedding.

TH Hotel is owned by Tabung Haji and is build inside the Tabung Haji complex. Before the check in, we were a bit scared because we did not bring our marriage certificate, just in case they want the proof of our marriage. If worse comes to worst we decided to show the picture of our baby scan *sigh. Apparently no, they don't request for your marriage certificate, hehe.

The hotel room is so spacious that you can even run inside, heh. The bathroom is also spacious and they provide a very basic essential like soap and shampoo. Make sure you bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. Extra point that they also provide the praying mat so that you don't have to use towel as your praying mat :)

Unfortunately, they don't provide iron inside the room, thus, you have to walk to the iron room. They only provide one iron room at each floor with one iron and one board. A minus point there because you have to long queue to iron your clothes.

Overall, for a short trip like mine and if you don't have the need to iron your clothes, I will still suggest you to consider TH Hotel for a budget stay. It cost me RM130 per night.

One day food trip in Penang

We were invited to attend friend's wedding at Bagan Serai last Sunday. Since it's a school holiday until next week, the traffic was massived with vehicles, thus, our initial plan of a day trip to Bagan Serai was changed to Plan B. We stayed in Penang Island on Saturday and went down to Bagan Serai on the next Sunday as we don't want to get too tired driving all the way from KL.

We travel to Penang too much to explore the places, thus, we decided this time we are going to hunt for the foods.

Lunch:
Mee Goreng Sotong (fried noodle with squids) @ Restaurant Hameed, Padang Kota Lama

Dinner:
Nasi Kandar (rice with variety of curries and side dishes) @ Restaurant Deen, Jelutong

Breakfast:
Roti Canai Daging (pratha bread like), Transfer Road

Drink:

Coconut Milkshake @ Restaurant Jalil, Padang Kota Lama

Amazingly, each restaurant we went to, we have to long queue. It made us wanted to stay in queue to taste the food even more. Is the foods tasty? Well, I managed to finish it all, so I guess the foods is a must try, yes, no? Hehe.

Our next must try food in Penang is Assam Laksa & Char Kuey Tiew :)

Till then, bye.
Love, emy.

Air Asia Free Seats

I asked my colleague who already visited Bali before how much is the cheapest flight ticket she surveyed and I'd compared with mine which is RM686 returns for 2 pax chosen seats 1A & 1B - not bad right?

She wished me good luck with the purchase and I told her I already bought. She was surprised because AA just launched the free seats for public today at 12 am. She said I have been working with Singapore colleagues for too long that made me become "kiasu". Tskk.

Anyway, good luck to everyone who already plan for their holiday next year :)

Till the, bye.
Love, emy.

Casa Fina Fine Homes, Langkawi

Being me, I like to do things last minute *bad habit*

Our trip to Langkawi was a last minute plan.

We plan to rides ferry to the island, so we skipped the process of purchasing flight ticket. I was so excited with the ferry rides. Mama said I used to rode ferry when I was a little kid, but I couldn't remember the experience. I must've been so little like baby that I don't save the memory. Well, the ferry rides wasn't as exciting as I imagined, I got dizzy, tehee.

The only task before the trip was to find place to stay. We decided to stay at Pantai Cenang. 2 weeks prior to the vacation date - room rates were ridiciliously expensive.

Alhamdulillah, Allah save us, we found a good place to stay.

It's a cabin style room that have verandas with table and chair outside the room that is facing the garden. The room is cosy too and is well equip with the basic essentials.

You can try to check this place out if you plan to stay near Pantai Cenang with budget less than RM200.

Langkawi the Jewel of Kedah

I don't remember when was the last time I step foot on this duty free island, but the only thing I remember about the island is the eagle monument. You wouldn't believe that the only reason I love the island so much simply because my favourite bird is eagle hehe

Alhamdulillah, after years, I have the chance to re-visit the island again.

To share with you what were the activities during the short getaway,

1) Visit the Chenang beach

2) Having Laksa Power near the airport

3) Watching 6D Motion Adventure in Chenang Beach street

4) Having seafood dinner at Chenang beach

5) Island hopping - we went to Dayang Bunting Island and Lake, watch the eagle feeding at Singa Besar Island and resting at Beras Basah Island

6) Visit Underwater World

7) Visit Dataran Lang

8) Having dinner at Wan Thai restaurant in Pekan Kuah - I love this new dish called Keng Som

9) Shopping at The Zon and Idaman Suri

So, a new fact that I learn about Langkawi is it is larger than Singapore.

To tell you the truth, I haven't finish explore the island. I wish to come back again next year to ride the cable car, visit the skybridge, swims at Telaga Tujuh waterfall, etc,.

There are so many things to do in Langkawi and there are still a lot for me to look forward to.

Till then.

Jakarta ~ from my eyes...

I've been to the second and third largest cities in Indonesia but haven't step my foot on Indonesia's largest city - Jakarta ,until recently. Being born and raised in the suburb area where Petaling Jaya, Damansara and Kuala Lumpur are just nearby ,I don't find Surabaya and Medan is a place to live - for me .So, my trip to Jakarta recently, I didn't put much expectation on how the view , surrounding and the environment will be - as I always hear people say - Jakarta are very hectic , haze and maceettt everywhere, and having an impression on how Surabaya and Medan look like ,I have doubt on its differences when someone tried to promote Jakarta ;),.

13th July - I took an early flight from KUL to CGK.
Since I saw many pictures from my friends who took photos at Sukarno-Hatta International Airport, I knew I won't see anything like I saw in Bandung or Medan's airport. I forgot which terminal we landed, was it Terminal 2 or 3 .? For an Airasia flight.? But the airport reminded me of Budget Terminal in Singapore *actually I don't know what is the similarity between these two airports*  Maybe I was greeted by almost the same way when I arrived . :). The view at the outside of the airport is so spacious that I don't see any maceett environment ?Well, my impression changed a bit, because I thought I will see something that is almost similar to Surabaya's airport, but, no, all you can see is a clean traffic despite the so many people saying hello and goodbye..

While on the highway, I tried to enjoy the view and scenary, simply because I want to compare Jakarta and Malaysia wt*.. haha,.. Indonesian who has been to Malaysia have to admit that Malaysia's highway is still better, right.? I don't remember if there are any 3 lanes highway, maybe yes, but the toll booth only has lanes for cash and 'Touch & Go' like. They don't come up with something like 'Smart Tag' yet.. The toll exit name is so long that I hardly remember which exit I ever took :b  but I remember there is one toll exit called Professor *dunnowhat*.. hehe..

While heading to the city, I started to see buildings, tall buildings and more buildings. There was one time on the road I felt like I'm at Jalan Ipoh, KL and I started to feel the KL's vibes. Honestly, I can't wait to see macet's scene in Jakarta *abnormal* because I heard a lotttt about it, how irritating it is to be stucked for hours.. And finally, on day 2 in Jakarta, I got to experienced the maceett, while sleeping, hahaha,. We were on our way to Tanah Abang and I was so sleepy , so I slept ,and when I woke up the Supir said we can't go to Tanah Abang because the jam was deathly serious he hardly enter the market.. Okayyy, I missed the moment stucked in jam for hours.. Supiirr was Bian.. hehe.. Poor Bian only Mama accompany him while he was driving..

The nightlife in Jakarta is different from KL..Okay, I can't compare much because I only stayed there for 2 nights, but what I can say is Malaysian can hangout until 2-3 am at Mamak while chatting or watching movies or football, which make sense if you're coming late home, but in Jakarta, I don't find any place to hangout until 2-3 am.. *I don't compare night clubs activity*  I should explore more on the nightlife activities, exclude clubbing~.. Oh ya, I remember on the first night we stopped at Seven Eleven to find something, and guess what?the teenagers were hangout at the Seven Eleven.!! Of course, don't imagine their Seven Eleven is like ours, haha, because their Seven Eleven is more bigger and more wide range of food choices, and there are tables for hangout.. Hmm, the event is similar to teenagers in Malaysia hangout at the McDonalds doing homework or assignment..

And so, everything that changed my point of view towards Jakarta cannot beat this one reason - The Mall - I just love the fact that Jakarta has a lot of shopping malls. It reminded me of home and more ツ We went to Grand Indonesia and to me it's almost like Pavilion. I don't remember walked across any Gucci, Prada, Channel boutique, but, they have Magnum Café. How cool is that.? The ambient of their foodcourt is nicer, oh, maybe almost similar to the Pavilion. To my surprise, Malaysia's cinema lobby isn't anything like their cinema lobby, it was spacious and looks high end, or maybe we can compare The Signature@The Garden with theirs.. And the normal cinema hall is larger than our Hall 1 and Hall 2.. Oh, I started to love Jakarta ◕‿◕

Well,, from my 3 days 2 nights experienced,, I can say that,, I can survive in Jakarta. .❀‿❀..

 I will be back~~!

-Love Emy-
